Suzi Stone, Director of Programming & Production
Suzi is the Director of Programming and Production. She has been employed at KSMQ for 29 years. She also co-owns a video production company, which was very active years ago. That was one of her passions, shooting rock and roll videos, at the National and local level. Now, that's mostly memories shared with her cohorts. Her programming hat allows her to research and seek out program offers from various distributors making sure to select something for everyone! Her production hat allows her to be more creative to produce content that appeals to our viewers. Suzi and her team enjoy telling the stories of our areas, revealing some of those hidden gems people aren't aware of, showcasing musical talent, arts, history and culture that entertain, educate and bring value to our communities and the people in them.
Outside of work, she enjoys sharing time with her grandchildren, attending live music and sporting events and sharing time with family and friends as well.
Dan Urlick, Digital Content Producer
Dan has been at KSMQ for three years, but he actually began his career with KSMQ in 1985, as a student in the radio and TV broadcasting at Austin Technical College program (now Riverland) with Hall of Famer John O'Rourke. He then attended Winona State University where he received his Bachelor's in mass communications.
As a Digital Content Producer, Dan's responsibilities include all facets of both digital and broadcast production. He has the opportunity to experience it all, from camera operation to audio setups to editing. He enjoys producing the KSMQ+ Digital First series, featuring local events and activities, and also producing stories for our most popular program, Off 90.
He's passionate about music, bicycling and nature in his free time and likes to spend time with his father, who is in his 90s.
Andrew Miller, Television Producer
Andrew has worked in television for over eight years and brings a plethora of storytelling experience to his role at KSMQ. With a degree in digital media, several award-winning short films with his name on them, and a published novel, he is well-positioned to tell the stories of southern Minnesota and northern Iowa. Andrew also showcases his creativity as our graphics guru as well.
He and his wife enjoy the outdoors, reading books, puzzling, and painting in their leisure time.
Stan Peal, Television Producer
Stan Peal is our newest television producer at KSMQ. He has previously worked as a Writer-Producer at CBS affiliate station WSPA in Spartanburg, South Carolina, and as a Marketing Associate at Commonweal Theatre in Lanesboro, Minnesota. Stan has also worked as a voice and theatre actor for over 40 years.
Stan’s hobbies include pizza making, podcasting and chain-sawing. He lives in Lanesboro with his wife Laura, two dogs and four cats. We are excited to have Stan on our team to bring his skills and creativity to our local programs.
