TELEVISION PRODUCER

We are looking for a highly energetic, organized professional interested in making short documentaries and assisting in the creation of other TV programming and all other elements of production work. The Television Producer will help KSMQ build on its solid foundation of delivering content to a wider audience as well as our immediate and surrounding communities.

Job Summary:
The Television Producer will be expected to create video stories and to produce programs, as well as assist in creating on-air interstitial content, UW sponsorship spots, testimonials, Station ID’s, social media, etc. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: 

• Assistance with production of our programs, and internal elements for broadcast and digital content (producing, videography, and editing);
• Produce and edit KSMQ programs;
• Assist with live-streaming events;
• Produce, record, and edit short documentaries and feature stories, filler materials, etc.
• Assist in creating all on-air elements, digital content, graphics, social media, etc.
• Develop and write scripts for documentaries, series, segments, on-air promotions, UW sponsorship spots, station ID’s, etc.
• Assist in production locations as needed

Qualifications/Requirements: 

• Bachelor’s degree in television, mass communication, marketing, or digital media preferred
• Experience with producing short form video stories and other areas as listed below
• Media file management experience
• Computer literacy required (Word, Outlook, Excel)
• Video editing experience (preferably Final Cut X)
• Create graphics for programs and other station elements (Adobe Photoshop)
• Videography proficiency ( Lumix GH6 DSLR, Panasonic HC-X2)
• Production control knowledge (audio, robotic cameras, directing, teleprompter)
• Studio set-up (lighting, camera positioning, decorating, audio)
• Assist in training, monitoring of interns, new hires

• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Accuracy and reliability for exceptional attention to detail
• Even temperament, especially when working under tight deadlines
• Must be able to lift a maximum of 50#, and have the ability to perform physical functions as required
• Be a self-starter, show initiative
• Drone license also a plus

Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
