About the Series
Season One of Garden Connections, was a 13-part live call-in series. Learn more about gardening by selecting online video segments of Season One, shown at right.

KSMQ Public Television brings the garden to the television screen. Norrie MacIlraith host, a local gardening expert that has a good working knowledge of what it takes to really make things grow successfully in our region, will be joined each week by other specialists to talk in depth about a range of topics. Later in the show, phone lines will be opened so viewers can connect with the gardening gurus in the studio.

About the Host

Norrie MacIlraith, RN, MS, CNS, is a PeriOperative Clinical Nurse Specialist
with a passion for gardening. Working as
an entrepreneurial consultant, many Integrated Health Practices are applied to her nursing practice including Therapeutic Horticulture. Gardening provides a true stress-relief outlet that provides a great workout and satisfaction of creativity.

A Certified Master Gardener for 24 years in Iowa and now Minnesota, volunteer work with the University Extension Service has brought many opportunities to serve local communities.

The purpose of the Master Gardener program is to teach others. Current projects with the Olmsted Master Group include: working with youth in the “World Garden”; Research, Teaching, Writing, Publishing; Presenting to various community groups and state/national meetings; Farmer’s Market Q&A; and coordinating Public Relations for the MG Group.
