KSMQ is proud to partner with Riverland Community College
on their new Generations initiative.

Generations is a personal educational experience designed for the mature learner to inspire learning for living. Each month, the group gathers to discuss a particular topic that they have identified as an area they wish to learn more about. KSMQ is providing some exciting and informational broadcast programs related to support their monthly in-person topics. Participants are encouraged to watch our programs at the scheduled air date on KSMQ and be prepared to discuss during the KSMQ Program Club Time at the monthly meeting.

Topics range from Global Warming to the Middle East, to the History of Minnesota and more. A two-hour special called the Boomer Century: 1946–2046 will provide insight into the thinking and the perspective of the group growing up during this time period. KSMQ will also provide the group with an extensive, but easy to understand overview of digital television and in November, KSMQ will present it’s own documentary called Stories from the Homefront which will capture what life was like in this region during WW II. This program will support Generations focus on Veterans for that month.

There will be programs to educate on nutrition and aging, and some entertaining Minnesota programs which will provide some great travel ideas for interesting places to go and also a little history about our state.

KSMQ partners with projects such as this one as part of our effort to demonstrate the incredible power of public television to educate, enlighten and entertain.
