Position:

Broadcast Engineer/Operation Manager

Location:

KSMQ Offices in Austin, Minnesota

Qualifications:

Experience in master control operations and maintenance, radio and UHF transmitter operation and maintenance, strong electronics/ troubleshooting skills and computer/networking skills. The ideal candidate would also have 2 or more years electronics/ broadcast education and 2+ years broadcast experience.

Key Functions:

Performs installation/ operation and maintenance of various equipment including but not limited to: video/ audio servers, routing and switching systems, video tape recorders, automation systems, satellite earth stations and receivers, UHF NTSC/ ATSC transmitters, microwave radio links, production cameras, audio consoles and microphones.

Installs and maintains computers and networking equipment to include software installation and upgrades.

Coordinates with various equipment manufacturers to resolve equipment failures and discrepancies.

Manages and supervises master control operations to include operator scheduling, quality control of on-air and recorded content, EAS messages and transmitter readings.

Coordinates with traffic personnel to resolve program discrepancies.

Assist in local productions.

Performs other related duties as directed by the Chief Engineer.
